The way this player works is it sits off until you put an 8 track cassette in then starts. The lights work. Unfortunately it does not play any music, at least with the 8 track cassette I tested. Beyond that I'm not sure whats wrong with it.

The speaker may be shot, or the connection have come undone inside, worst case scenario is it isn't reading turning cassette. If you put in an 8 track cassette and hold the power cable a certain way it will turn on and light up. I don't even hear static or hum from the speaker. If you press the big Orange track select button can hear it changing position.

3-5505A Portable PARTS ONLY, Condition Notes: ONLY NOT WORKING. If you plug it in doesn't work at all right away but can pull up or put pressure on the connection and works.
