Currently the batteries still have some charge and so I was able to verify radio works off ac or dc equally well. This option allows setting the antenna in a separate location than radio for better reception. It uses the 'lacteal' type of vacuum tubes.

The previous owner replaced capacitors, power cord, etc. The serial number they were made by Zenith from 1942 to I tested it and seemed be working on all bands. This is a beautiful radio in good shape. The giant vertical antenna, which extends over 4', is intact, undamaged.

It has settings for 25, 19, and 31 meters. A newer mole connector was added to the battery interface, but original wiring is still in place and so if not desired then that can be removed will remain.
