Review ADMIRAL Vintage Truetone /admiral Model

The Admiral D-703 1939 TrueTone phonograph is a stunning piece of vintage audio technology that will transport you back in time. This phonograph, manufactured by Admiral, a renowned name in the history of audio equipment, boasts a classic design reminiscent of the 1930s and 1940s. The cabinet is crafted from high-quality wood, giving it an elegant and timeless appearance. Its TrueTone technology ensures accurate frequency response, delivering rich and clear sound that does justice to your vinyl records.

The D-703 comes equipped with a quartz time-controlled motor, ensuring consistent speed and smooth operation. The three-speed turntable supports 78, 45, and 33 1/3 RPM records, making it versatile for a wide range of vinyl collections. The automatic operation feature adds convenience, as the tone arm lifts after the record has finished playing.

The phonograph's tone arm is designed with an electronic anti-skate mechanism, which balances the tracking force evenly across the record, resulting in improved sound quality and longer record life. The adjustable pitch control allows for fine-tuning of the playback speed, making it a valuable feature for DJs or collectors who require precise pitch adjustments.

The D-703 also features a built-in stereo speaker system, which delivers powerful and balanced sound without the need for external speakers. The cabinet's design includes sound-absorbing materials to reduce distortion and enhance the overall listening experience.

Additionally, the phonograph comes with a detachable dust cover to protect your records when not in use and preserve their pristine condition. The minimalist control panel, with its intuitive layout, makes operating the D-703 a breeze, even for those new to vintage audio equipment.

In summary, the Admiral D-703 1939 TrueTone phonograph is a beautifully designed, high-performance audio system that combines vintage charm with modern functionality. Its rich sound quality, versatile features, and elegant design make it an excellent addition to any music enthusiast's collection.

Details:

It does work and picks up my local stations. However there are different variants of this radio with grill styles and either in the black Bakelite, or more rare ivory plasmon cabinet. This is a very rare 1939 truetone/Admiral model - 703. It has been recapped and adjusted with all original knobs grill cloth hardware.

I have done a bit of research and did not find much information on this radio model.
