However, if it is available on the shortwave band, this unit can receive. This is a very nice radio that I prefer to the icf-2010. The radio itself fails to switch with batteries and has not been tested optional ac power supply.

It will come with a photocopy of the original manual, visible in pictures. This unit also has a great reputation for giving people start in shortwave listening it can many regards outperform other more expensive radios. Serious buyers should know that this now-discontinued, no longer manufactured hard to find portable digital all-band receiver is a favorite among short wave hobbyists, radio engineers and many DX fans.

This unit appears to be in excellent physical shape and looks close new with very little wear other than a minor discoloration small part of the speaker grill. You are buying on a Sony short-wave radio model ICF-2002 which is the us equivalent to Asian and European icf-7600d. This radio packs almost unlimited information and entertainment in the space of a single paperback book.

The radio receives am, FM, Le, and SW with Sb single side band. Users can also receive the BBC, voice of America VOA, and armed forces radio broadcasts with this great unit. The pictures show its exterior physical condition.

Just punch in your frequency and there you are receiving crisp clear signals using Sony?outstanding phase lock loop pall synthesized tuning. The radio uses six AA batteries and or an ac adapter, neither of which are included. Of course, due to the nature shortwave reception, time day, atmospheric conditions and location has a lot do with reception quality. The Sony ICF-2002 and icf-2003, icf-7600d, icf-7600ds have clock functions fine tuning adjustments.

It is missing the battery covers to both compartments and top power switch locked in on position. The difference between icf-7600d and Sony which is us equivalent to Asian European icf-7600ds simply model number year of manufacture they all came in either silver or black, are operationally identical. Their most special feature is amazing direct entry tuning using its keypad and digital display.

This discoloration is clearly visible in the photos. These identical radios were released with different model numbers depending on the continent in which they purchased and year of purchase. There is one particular FM station that I frequently listen to over 100 miles from my home. It has better tone and is simpler to operate.

This radio has a very sensitive front end and I have found that it is capable of receiving long distance stations easily.
