The General Electric GLB-673 Superheterodyne Tube Radio is a vintage audio device that exudes an aura of classic charm and elegant design. This radio, manufactured by the renowned General Electric Company, is a testament to the engineering prowess and innovation of the mid-20th century.
Measuring approximately 12 inches in width, 7 inches in height, and 5 inches in depth, the GLB-673 is a compact yet substantial piece of equipment, perfect for any tabletop or shelves. The cabinet is crafted from high-quality wood, featuring a rich, warm finish that adds to its vintage appeal. The dial face, encircled by a thin band of chrome, exhibits an array of clear, easy-to-read numbers and markings.
The heart of this radio is its superheterodyne circuitry, a highly sensitive and selective tuning mechanism. This design allows the GLB-673 to pick up radio signals with remarkable clarity and stability, even amidst interference from various sources. The set comes equipped with five tubes: a 6F6, a 6V6, a 6L6, a 5U4, and a 12AX7. These vacuum tubes are responsible for amplifying and processing the incoming radio signals, ensuring an exceptional listening experience.
The GLB-673 boasts a three-band tuning system, allowing users to fine-tune their radio to their preferred AM or FM frequency bands. The system includes a Bias control, which helps maintain optimal tube performance, and a Sensitivity control, which enables users to adjust the radio's sensitivity to ambient radio signal levels. Additionally, the radio features a Volume control and a Bass/Treble control to cater to individual listening preferences.
The set includes a wooden speaker cabinet, complete with a 6-inch speaker that produces clear, full-bodied sound. The front grille of the speaker is adorned with a traditional GE emblem, adding to the radio's overall aesthetic appeal.

Appears to be original cord in good condition. The case has some nicks and scratches but still nice. But radio is being sold as for parts or repair. Looking inside the back, very clean.
Now for the good news. Personally I think this radio is a great candidate for restoration. There are batteries inside which in good condition but most certainly not. The leather carrying handle is in pretty good condition.
Still pretty cool that they are there. The antenna is in very good condition. Safe to say the suction cups are hard and not usable. When plugged in we Get nothing out of radio.
This radio has been cared for as you can see in the pictures.
