Did not record any audio, but plays cassettes and sounds great for its size. Vintage Sanyo M7650, very similar to model m77 not sure what differences there might be. No owners manual, original box, batteries requires 5 'c' cells or ac adapter. Sold as-is, vintage electronics well past original warranty period.
Only tested with batteries not included, I do have the required ac adapter for power. Only thing I noticed other than some slight scratches is the battery record level meter does not work. Needs some cleaning, but works and sounds great.
No previous meltdowns in battery compartment.
