Look at the pictures before buying as they are an important part of. I tried it with 2 AA batteries and did try play but volume level is hard to adjust not much reception so will need be repaired.

This early transistor radio has a black front with white grille and slide rule dial CD civil defense emergency station indicators on it's. Has a white and black hard plastic body solidly built, this example is from my own personal collection, it in very good cosmetic condition, no cracks chips that I can see, just minor wear looks kind of shiny too.
