The case is made of black Bakelite. Buff out and color the JB Weld patch with a black permanent marker. Make a form and fill it with epoxy. If you want to fix the chip, here is how do it: I have repaired these chips in case before with JB weld epoxy.

I'm not sure. I think it uses an Acorn tube. With the case sitting flat on table, you do not notice.
